MOT preparation & repairs: questions
Do you carry out MOT tests at Kay's Auto Services?
Kay's Auto Services prepares cars for the MOT, repairs failures and advisories and helps you get the test booked. Call 07922 220900 to check the current arrangement for the test itself and to book your car in for a pre-MOT check first, which catches the common failure points before test day.
What are the most common reasons a car fails its MOT?
Lighting and signalling faults are the most common, followed by suspension, brakes, tyres and the driver's view of the road, such as wipers, washers and windscreen damage. Many are cheap to fix beforehand. A pre-MOT check at Kay's looks at all of these so you are not caught out on test day.
How early can I get my MOT done?
You can get an MOT up to a month minus a day before it runs out and still keep the same renewal date for next year. For example, if it expires on 15 May, the earliest test that keeps that date is 16 April. You can check your due date for free on GOV.UK.
